SPEECH BY BOLSHEVIK GROUP SOUTH KOREA AT ANTI-IMPERIALIST PLATFORM RALLY In 17th Dec Seoul

On February 26, two days after the outbreak of Ukraine's all-out war, we published a statement “Russian military action is a just retribution against provocations of NATO puppet regime: Resist against NATO imperialist expansion! For the self-determination of Donbass!”

Many people obsessed with the propaganda of the imperialist media believe that the war began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. But NATO's 30-year-old eastward policy since the collapse of Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union by the capitalist counter-revolution, is the real cause of this war.

The U.S. imperialist-led NATO has incorporated countries in the region into obedient super-exploitation zones through its 30-year policy of expanding neo-colonies. Finally, in 2014, a pro-American puppet regime was established in Ukraine, near the Russian border. A dagger was pointed under Russia's chin, and under Kiev's pro-imperialist puppet regime, labor and left-wing organizations were put under an end to oppression. The Donbas region, which wants independence, has been suffered from military aggression for eight years. Over 15,000 people have been killed in the meantime. In that sense, the military operation of February 24 is a legitimate act of self-defense for the people of Russia and the Donbas region.

But many of the world’s leftists, overwhelmed to a sense of slavery by imperialist pressure, are on the side of NATO imperialism, denouncing Russia as an aggressor or, at best, calling it the same as NATO imperialism. This figure is not unfamiliar in history. Most of the European leftists who were representing the working class in their ordinary days were laid flat under imperial pressure when World War I and World War II broke out.

We, the Bolshevik group, were looking for an international organization with the same position as ours. Last March, more than 12 organizations from Brazil, Argentina, UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Greece, Turkey and Korea gathered under the name of Marxist Speak Out. The organizations gathered shared the claim of 'the defeat of NATO and the victory of Russia/Donbas' and are carrying out several joint actions.

And a few days ago, through the proposal of the People's Democratic Party, I learned about the Paris Declaration on the war in Ukraine and the international joint struggle. We, the Bolshevik Group, judge that this international struggle group is gathered in the same spirit as the Marxist Speakout with which we are together. Therefore, we are together in today's struggle organized by the World Anti-Japanese Platform. Starting with today's joint struggle, I hope that sooner or later the two international fronts will happily meet each other and form solidarity.

Imperialism is the pillar supporting capitalism in its decline. That is why the anti-imperialist struggle is the core of the overthrow of capitalism, which plunges mankind into disaster.

The United States, the central axis of the imperialist camp, is currently experiencing great difficulties. Since Libya in 2011 (the overthrow of Gadhafi's regime), things haven't gone well. There is nothing going on. Due to the counterattack of the working people (in Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Turkey, North Korea, Bolivia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, etc.), the United States' strategy has continued to fail in many parts of the world over the past decade. The defeat in Afghanistan is a very symbolic event that shows that the United States is going down a steep slope and that the imperialist system, which seemed solid, is cracking apart.

Let us unite the world working class on the anti-imperialist struggle front through our common struggle. Let's hasten the collapse of imperialism. Let's put an end to capitalism and achieve the liberation of the working class and mankind. Workers of all countries, unite! Long live the struggle to overthrow imperialism!
